How is the climate in Bloomington during early April?
We have been blessed to have beautiful weather for 10 of the 12 years of the event; 2010 had intermittent rain, 2016 it was windy and much colder than usual and 2017 was perfect with mod 40s at race start time and mid 60s for the post race party. Spring weather in Indiana generally starts out chilly in the morning with an average low temperature of 45 degrees warming up to an average high temperature of 65 degrees.

What roads will be closed and how will I be detoured?
For these questions, please refer to the spectator/citizen section of Course Info.

Do participants receive a "Race Shirt?"
Yes. ALL pre-registered participants will receive a Race Shirt at Packet Pick-Up. The 5k and the half marathon tees are different styles, both are poly/cotton blend, and both are unisex sizing. All pre-registration tee shirt sizes are guaranteed. Event tee and specific sizes are not guaranteed at Late Registration (after 4/9).

Are the races chip timed?
Yes. The Hoosier Half Marathon & FTK 5K runs are chip timed start and finish. The "For the Kids" 5K Walk is NOT timed. There are two split points on the half marathon course, one at the 5K and one at the 10K. We also have live timing and results available - the website link is on the back of your race number. A direct link to your result is also available via the QR code printed on the front of your race number.

Where should I stay?
The Hoosier Half always has partner hotels to get you a better rate. When our partner hotels become available we will post that information here and on social media.
To learn more about options for your overnight stay check out event partner Visit Bloomington and feel free to contact them for assistance.
Who should I contact about being an "elite" runner?
If you are a male under 1:09 or a female under 1:18, you may contact register@hoosierhalf.com with proof of performance(s). Meeting the time requirement does not guarantee a comped "elite" entry.

REGISTRATION FAQ
What is the deadline for online registration?
Online registration will close on April 14, 2018 at 7:30am. Mailed in registration forms MUST be received by us no later than Monday - 4/2/2017. If you do not submit your registration by the deadlines, on site registration is available at Packet Pick-Up on April 13 from 4:00pm-8:00pm or on Race Day, April 14 from 6:30am-7:30am. Any mail-in registration forms received after the April 2nd deadline will be considered as LATE registration and will be treated the same as all other walk up LATE registrations.

How can I get confirmation of my registration?
Please email register@hoosierhalf.com your first name, last name, and phone number. We will send you a registration confirmation.

I registered and/or was charged twice, what should I do?
If you received two confirmations with two different confirmation numbers, then you have submitted two separate registrations (please email register@hoosierhalf.com). Otherwise, determine if the extra charge (or charges) on your online credit card statement is a pending charge. If so, your bank will cancel it in a few days. A pending charge appears, most likely, because you submitted incomplete or inaccurate information when submitting payment. Even if you received an error message, your credit card company will place a pending line item in your online statement. A final charge will be completed only for successful registrations for which you received a confirmation code.

What if I accidentally entered incorrect information when I registered?
Please email register@hoosierhalf.com with your registration confirmation number and the requested changes. The deadline for changes is  Saturday - March 31st at 5:00pm. An email response can be expected confirming your request. You may also make changes at the Packet Pick-Up (Friday & Saturday) by visiting the "Help Desk".

May I upgrade or downgrade my originally registered event?
Yes. Just email register@hoosierhalf.com with your registration confirmation number and the requested changes. If you wish to downgrade you will not be refunded the cost difference in events, and we recommend downgrading at the HELP DESK -- AFTER you pickup your packet so you receive your tech shirt which is only for half marathon registrants. You may also upgrade at the Packet Pick-Up (Friday & Saturday) by visiting the "Help Desk."

May I transfer my entry to someone else?
Yes. Please email register@hoosierhalf.com with your registration confirmation number and the requested changes. You may NOT transfer an entry on race day.

I can't make it! May I get a refund for my entry?
Yes. Please email register@hoosierhalf.com with your registration confirmation number ($15 fee applies). The deadline is April 2nd at 5:00pm. An email response can be expected confirming your request. After the deadline, there are no refunds and any emails or calls regarding refunds will be disregarded.
